Yellow Card Raises $40 Million to Expand Global Stablecoin Infrastructure

Yellow Card has raised $40 million in a strategic funding round to accelerate the expansion of its stablecoin infrastructure and Global USD Accounts.

The round attracted investment from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital and other strategic investors, bringing Yellow Card’s total funding to more than $120 million.

The new capital will support the rollout of Global USD Accounts, an end-to-end dollar account designed for businesses. The platform enables companies to hold U.S. dollars, manage treasury, swap stablecoins and send or receive local currency payments through domestic payment rails in more than 50 countries.

Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, said the investment reflects confidence in the growing role of stablecoins in cross-border payments.

“Stablecoins are here to stay, but their adoption will depend on robust infrastructure and clear real-world utility. Yellow Card is building those rails for businesses across Africa, enabling them to access and move value efficiently across markets.”

The funding will also support Yellow Card’s expansion beyond Africa into Latin America and Asia-Pacific, with Sony Innovation Fund highlighting the company’s ability to bridge traditional finance with next-generation digital payments.

Chris Maurice, CEO and Co-Founder of Yellow Card, said the company is increasingly focused on enabling financial institutions to connect directly to stablecoin infrastructure.

“The bigger opportunity now is connecting banks themselves to stablecoin rails. When institutions plug into this infrastructure, they’re not just modernizing payments—they’re unlocking dollar access for millions of businesses that traditional correspondent banking has left behind.”

Yellow Card says its Global USD Accounts are already used by customers including Visa and Western Union. The company has processed more than $10 billion in transactions, supports over 50 currencies, and operates with licenses, registrations, and authorizations across 22 jurisdictions in North America, Europe, and Africa.
