California-based electric vehicle startup Bingo has officially entered the Kenyan market with the launch of its E2 electric vehicle. The company says it is targeting ride-hailing and last-mile delivery operators with this electric vehicle.
The company is also introducing a broader electric mobility ecosystem that includes battery-swapping technology and DC fast charging infrastructure.

The Bingo E2 features a dual-battery system consisting of one fixed battery and four swappable battery packs, enabling a claimed driving range of up to 440 kilometers on a full charge. The battery-swapping model is designed to minimize downtime for commercial drivers and to allow them to quickly exchange depleted batteries instead of waiting for vehicles to recharge.
Speaking during the launch, Bingo co-founder Christian Scheder said the company’s focus is on improving the economics of electric mobility for drivers.
“We’re launching a new EV, but what we’re really launching is a whole ecosystem for ride-hailing and last-mile delivery drivers to succeed,” said Scheder.
He added that rising fuel prices continue to reduce earnings for commercial drivers, creating an opportunity for electric mobility solutions that offer lower operating costs.
“We know the cost of gas and fuel is very high, and right now they’re not making money.”
Bingo also plans to begin local assembly of the E2 in Nairobi by December 2026. Before it starts local production, the startup expects to import between 10 and 20 vehicles later this year.
The company aims to sell 1,500 vehicles in 2027 and have 10,000 electric vehicles operating on Kenyan roads by the end of 2028.
