Yellow Card has received seven nominations at the Morgans Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) & Financial Crime Awards 2026 (Africa Edition).

The nominations include the Organizational Excellence in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) award, and six individual nominations recognizing members of Yellow Card’s compliance leadership team.

Senior Compliance Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for West, Central, and East Africa, Bright Anyanwu, has been shortlisted in four categories: Emerging Talent/Rising Star in GRC & Financial Crime Prevention, GRC & Financial Crime Prevention Influencer (Africa), Financial Crime and Fraud Prevention Leader, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance Leader.

Meanwhile, Japhet Gana, Group Head of Transaction Risk and Financial Crime, has been nominated for Financial Crime and Fraud Prevention Leader and Governance, Risk, and Compliance Leader.

“Financial crime doesn’t take a day off, and neither have I. At Yellow Card, compliance sits at the heart of our operations, not on the sidelines. These nominations are proof that Africa’s compliance frontier is being defended with expertise the world can trust,” said Bright Anyanwu.

Founded in 2016, Yellow Card has expanded its regulated digital asset infrastructure across more than 60 countries. The company recently appeared on the Fortune Crypto Innovators list and announced a regulatory anti-money laundering (AML) affiliation in Switzerland aimed at facilitating Africa-Europe financial flows.

Yellow Card says its compliance framework includes know-your-customer (KYC) verification, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) controls, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and anti-bribery measures.

The company is a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) in South Africa and Botswana and is registered with regulators in several jurisdictions including the European Union and the United States.

Voting for the 2026 Morgans GRC & Financial Crime Awards is open until 30 August 2026. The top three nominees in each category will be shortlisted before a panel of judges selects the winners, who will be announced during the awards ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya, this November.
