Nutanix is set to highlight how East African organisations can move from AI ambition to practical deployment at GITEX Kenya 2026, as the global tech event makes its debut in the region.
The company says its participation will focus on helping enterprises, governments, and startups deploy artificial intelligence in a way that balances sovereignty, security, cost control, and operational simplicity.
Taking place in Nairobi from May 19 to 21, GITEX Kenya 2026 is expected to bring together technology leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators at a time when the region is positioning itself as a growing hub for AI and digital transformation.
According to Nutanix, the conversation around AI in East Africa is shifting from experimentation to execution. As more organisations explore generative AI, automation, and data-driven services, the focus is increasingly on how to deploy, manage, and scale these workloads across different environments.
“East Africa has a real opportunity to build AI adoption on practical foundations,” said Tunde Abagun. “The region can expand access to AI while maintaining control over data, cost, and governance.”
Nutanix is advocating for a hybrid multicloud approach, where organisations can run AI workloads across public cloud, private infrastructure, and edge environments depending on their specific requirements around latency, compliance, and cost.
The company warns that as AI adoption grows, organisations must also be cautious of new forms of vendor lock-in—particularly where models, cloud services, and data infrastructure become tied to a single provider too early.
To address these challenges, Nutanix will showcase its enterprise AI solutions, including its platform designed to support deployment across multiple environments with consistent management, security controls, and observability.
The company is also promoting a structured “90-day path” to AI deployment, which includes readiness assessments, data classification, model selection, governance frameworks, and cost planning. This approach aims to help organisations move from early-stage interest to real-world use cases that can be tested and scaled.
