Vertiv has announced it will host the next edition of its AI Innovation Roadshow for Africa in a virtual format, as the company pushes conversations around data centre readiness for artificial intelligence workloads across the continent.
The webinar is scheduled for April 15 at 11:00 SAST and will bring together industry experts to discuss how African data centres can evolve to support the growing demands of AI, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
Held under the theme “AI-Ready Data Centres for Africa: Building Infrastructure for What’s Next,” the session will focus on the infrastructure requirements needed to support high-density computing environments driven by AI.
Vertiv said the discussion will examine the role of power, cooling, and modular infrastructure in enabling efficient and scalable data centre operations, particularly as AI workloads place increasing strain on existing systems.
Among the topics expected to be covered are the impact of AI workloads on data centre strategies in Africa, energy efficiency requirements for high-density environments, and the evolution of cooling technologies, including precision cooling, chilled-water systems, and liquid cooling readiness.
The company will also highlight modular approaches to infrastructure deployment, which are increasingly being adopted to support future expansion while managing upfront investment.
The webinar will feature presentations from Vertiv executives including Wojtek Piorko, Managing Director for Africa, alongside technical leaders across thermal and power systems.
“Africa represents a strategically important market in the global AI landscape, with growing investment in digital infrastructure,” Piorko said. He added that the roadshow aims to explore the practical realities of preparing data centres for AI workloads while supporting efficient and environmentally responsible growth.
