East African data centre operator Wingu Africa has appointed Prasad Acharya as its new Director of Sales for Tanzania, a move aimed at strengthening the company’s commercial presence and accelerating growth in one of its key regional markets.
In his new role, Acharya will lead the company’s sales organisation in Tanzania and oversee efforts to expand adoption of Wingu Africa’s carrier-neutral data centre and digital infrastructure services among enterprises, telecom operators, and strategic partners.
Acharya brings more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and enterprise connectivity sectors. Over the course of his career, he has built and led high-performing sales teams and managed enterprise and strategic customer engagements across complex B2B technology environments.
“Tanzania is a key strategic market for Wingu Africa, and we are delighted to welcome Prasad to the team,” said Ralph Vraagom, Vice President of Sales at Wingu Africa.
“His extensive experience and strong understanding of the Tanzanian market will play an important role as we continue to expand our presence and support customers with reliable digital infrastructure.”
Acharya said he is joining the company at a time when demand for digital infrastructure across East Africa is accelerating.
“I am excited to join Wingu Africa at a time when demand for digital infrastructure is growing rapidly across the region,” he said. “I look forward to working with the team to strengthen client relationships and support organisations in Tanzania with resilient, world-class data centre services.”
The appointment also highlights Wingu Africa’s strategy to deepen its in-country leadership as it expands its infrastructure footprint in Tanzania and across the region.
As digital transformation accelerates across East Africa, demand for secure and carrier-neutral data centre facilities is rising, driven by cloud adoption, enterprise digitisation, and growing internet traffic across the region.
