KCB has partnered with Visa to launch a new Business Credit Card solution for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya. The solution is meant to give SMEs better manage cashflow, control expenses and pay for everyday business needs.
The business-focused credit card offers SMEs access to a revolving credit line with up to 45 days of interest-free credit. This gives entrepreneurs breathing room to manage working capital more effectively. Customers can choose between a Kenya Shillings (KES) or US Dollar (USD) card and this makes it easier to handle both local and international transactions.
The solution is also built with expense management in mind. It includes employee cards with customised spending limits, monthly reconciliation statements and clear separation between personal and business expenses.
SMEs will also benefit from Visa Commercial Offers, which provide global and local merchant discounts to help reduce operating costs as businesses digitise their operations.
“This solution is part of our digital and innovation strategy as we continue to offer seamless payment solutions that cater to changing customer needs,” said Jane Isiaho, Director of Retail Banking at KCB Bank Kenya.
“SMEs remain the backbone of the Kenyan economy, yet access to finance is one of their biggest barriers. Entrepreneurs operate on tight cashflow, with poor visibility on spend and weak expense controls. This card enables them to secure financing, manage costs effectively, and focus on meeting their business targets.”
Visa East Africa Vice President and General Manager Chad Pollock said the partnership is about enabling faster, more efficient payments for businesses. “By offering a better payment system to our SME customer base, we help them run their businesses more efficiently with minimal downtime, which ultimately supports the growth of the Kenyan economy.”
