Ene Adesanya - Bboxx

Bboxx has appointed Ene Adesanya as the new Managing Director of Bboxx Energy Access Nigeria.

Adesanya steps into the role as Bboxx deepens its participation in Nigeria’s Distributed Access through Renewable Energy Scale-up (DARES) programme, a major initiative designed to expand clean energy and essential services to underserved households and businesses.

Under her leadership, Bboxx Nigeria is targeting to reach more than 100,000 households just this year alone. The company is combining solar energy access with solar-powered irrigation solutions for agribusinesses and smartphone financing. This will help it position itself at the intersection of energy, productivity and digital inclusion.

Nigeria is Bboxx’s most strategic markets as it has a large population, has huge energy access gap and has growing demand for off-grid and distributed solutions.

Adesanya brings more than 17 years of experience in finance and business leadership to the role. Before her appointment, she served as Head of Finance at Bboxx Nigeria, where she played a key role in supporting market expansion, strengthening financial governance and managing both commercial and donor-funded programmes.

She takes over from Ernest Akinlola, who stepped down at the end of January after five years leading the Nigerian business. Akinlola will remain involved with Bboxx Nigeria as a member of the board.
