Telecom operators are under pressure to turn next-gen connectivity into real business value as 5G Standalone (SA) networks roll out across the world. One of the biggest opportunities lies in network slicing. This is the ability to create multiple virtual networks on a single 5G infrastructure, each optimised for specific use cases like gaming, live events, or mission-critical services.

To sell premium, SLA-backed services, operators need to see everything and that’s where NETSCOUT comes in.

The cybersecurity and observability company has announced how its advanced 5G observability solutions are helping Communications Service Providers (CSPs deliver reliable, high-performance network slicing services with full end-to-end visibility, from radio access networks (RAN) to the core.

    Why Network Slicing Matters

Network slicing turns 5G into multiple purpose-built networks running on shared infrastructure. Instead of one “best effort” network, operators can offer tailored performance for immersive gaming and AR/VR experiences, large-scale live events and festivals, enterprise and industrial applications and mission-critical services like remote healthcare.

According to industry forecasts, the global network slicing market is expected to grow rapidly over the next five years, driven by enterprise demand and the shift to 5G Standalone networks. For telcos, slicing is more than a technical upgrade, it’s a revenue engine.

Offering differentiated services only works if operators can prove performance. The reason for this is enterprises want guarantees on latency, uptime, throughput and reliability.

CSPs risk SLA penalties, customer churn and failed enterprise adoption of 5G services without real-time, end-to-end visibility.

NETSCOUT’s platform addresses this by giving operators continuous visibility across every slice, tenant and service layer.

NETSCOUT’s 5G observability stack combines several advanced capabilities:

    • End-to-end visibility across RAN, Core, and transport layers
    • Closed-loop automation to ensure each slice meets performance targets
    • Digital twins to simulate real-world slice behaviour before rollout
    • AIOps-driven forecasting for smarter resource allocation
    • NWDAF-powered analytics to optimise latency, jitter, and throughput

In simple terms: operators can detect issues faster, fix them quicker, and confidently sell premium services.
