Moringa School has announced a strategic partnership with the Nomad Futurist Foundation and iXAfrica Data Centres aimed at preparing young professionals for careers in Africa’s fast-growing data centre and digital infrastructure sector.
The collaboration combines structured online learning with real-world exposure. It is designed to address a growing skills gap as cloud computing, AI workloads, fintech platforms and digital public infrastructure rapidly scale across the continent.
Nomad Futurist will contribute its global digital infrastructure education platform and industry insight, working with Moringa School to deliver a short, structured online course focused on data centre fundamentals.
Participants will be introduced to key areas such as data centre infrastructure, sustainability practices, mechanical and electrical systems, cloud ecosystems, AI-ready design, and the role data centres play in enabling Africa’s digital economy.
Graduates who meet the program’s criteria will then progress to internship opportunities at iXAfrica’s NBOX1 campus.
According to Moringa School CEO Nikki Germany, the partnership is about creating practical pathways into an often overlooked but critical part of the tech ecosystem.
“This partnership marks an important step toward building a strong and future-ready talent pipeline for Africa. By combining structured learning with practical exposure, we’re opening new doors for tech professionals across the region,” she said.
Nomad Futurist CEO Nabeel Mahmood noted that data centres are foundational to digital growth but rarely visible as career paths for young professionals.
“Nomad Futurist exists to shine a light on careers in digital infrastructure that are often unseen but essential. This partnership is about giving emerging talent in Kenya early exposure to how data centres actually work, why they matter, and how these careers connect directly to Africa’s digital and economic growth,” Mahmood said.
Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica and Ambassador to the Nomad Futurist Foundation, emphasized the importance of hands-on experience in shaping future-ready professionals.
“Sustainable digital growth depends on people who are skilled, empowered, and future-ready. By bringing selected graduates into Kenya’s first hyperscale, AI-ready campus, we are ensuring they gain hands-on experience with the infrastructure powering cloud, AI, and the region’s digital economy,” Shah said.
