Boda boda riders are the backbone of Kenya’s transport and delivery economy, contributing billions to GDP and supporting millions of households. Yet, despite their essential role, they remain one of the most underserved groups in formal health access and insurance coverage.

At HealthX, we believe that every Kenyan deserves access to quality healthcare anytime, anywhere, and at an affordable cost. HealthX Boda is our commitment to a group that keeps Kenya moving, yet has historically been overlooked by traditional healthcare and insurance systems,” said Roy Bore CEO of HealthX. “For just 15 shillings a day, riders can protect their health, secure their livelihoods, and access quality medical care on demand.”

HealthX Boda is built on HealthX’s fully digital ecosystem, which already supports over a million users across the country, and is accessible through local ride hailing applications. With a focus on convenience, affordability, and inclusivity, the new solution empowers riders to seek care early, avoid catastrophic health expenses, and remain productive.

Boda boda riders deserve better; better healthcare, better protection, and better dignity. HealthX Boda is not just a product; it is a statement that their lives and wellbeing matter,” added Peter Atinga, Chief Commercial Officer at HealthX.

The launch of HealthX Boda aligns with HealthX’s long term vision of ensuring every Kenyan has access to quality and affordable healthcare, leveraging technology to bridge long standing gaps in the healthcare system.

HealthX Boda is available nationwide through LittCab, a leading local ride-hailing app with over 100,000 riders and drivers, and will soon be rolled out across other major ride-hailing platforms. Already, 1,600 riders have joined the platform at launch, confirming that this solution is both timely and urgently needed.
