Fincra’s CEO, Wole Ayodele, said the partnership comes at a crucial moment for cross-border payments in Africa. He noted that the company’s movement, Afincran, aims to support change-makers across the fintech ecosystem. Ayodele added that ATS Nairobi 2026 will be a milestone event for building infrastructure that connects people, businesses, and countries through unified financial systems.
Africa’s cross-border payments market is forecast to rise from 329 billion dollars in 2025 to 1 trillion dollars by 2035, according to data from Oui Capital. Africa still faces issues including high transaction costs, currency instability, fragmented regulations and low interoperability. Remittance fees remain among the highest in the world and only just over half of African countries currently allow electronic KYC.
Ayodele said Fincra is building the systems that will power the African Continental Free Trade Area, digital commerce, and efficient cross-border payments. He explained that the company is simplifying global payments with APIs, improving interoperability, and working with regulators to unlock the continent’s 3.4 trillion dollar market opportunity.
Andrew Fassnidge, Founder of Africa Tech Summit, said the team is pleased to welcome Fincra as a long-term partner. He highlighted that payments infrastructure plays an essential role in enabling growth for technology ventures across the continent and noted that Fincra’s work is helping raise the bar for the wider ecosystem.
The 2026 edition of Africa Tech Summit Nairobi is also supported by companies such as Cardano, Wada, Moniepoint, London Stock Exchange, Bitnob, ODOO, International Trade Centre, UK International Development, Tola Mobile, WeWire, Hizo Africa, Norrsken22, Platinum and Taylor Hill, Fonbnk, ZuniQ, Spendin, Choice Bank, Dojah, Kagoo, Loobv and others.
Attendees can expect two days of panel discussions, keynotes, masterclasses, fireside chats, a hackathon, investment showcases, and multiple networking opportunities.
