iColo has reaffirmed its support for the recent co-operative agreement between LINX and Asteroid Kenya.

The agreement was announced in September 2025 and involves transitioning Asteroid’s customers in Mombasa and Nairobi to LINX’s interconnection hubs in Kenya ahead of Asteroid Kenya’s planned cessation of operations at the end of the year. iColo’s Mombasa One (MBA1) and Mombasa Two (MBA2) data centers host the majority of the affected networks. This makes the company’s involvement crucial to a smooth migration.

“The support of our partners iColo in this project is crucial and we are grateful that we have such a close and collaborative relationship,” said Nurani Nimpuno, Head of Global Engagement at LINX. “We share the vision of improving interconnection and digital infrastructure in Kenya, with a focus on providing excellent services and strong relationships.”

LINX and Asteroid teams are working closely to ensure a seamless experience for customers, providing one-to-one support to discuss network needs. Many Kenyan networks have already gone live on LINX’s Mombasa and Nairobi hubs, strengthening the country’s position as a major East African connectivity hub.

“Our partnership has already delivered strong results in Nairobi and Mombasa, and we look forward to enabling further growth and innovation in East Africa’s digital ecosystem,” said Marcel Louw, Managing Director, Africa at Digital Realty.
