Cassava Technologies has announced a new strategic investment from global computing powerhouse NVIDIA.
Hardy Pemhiwa, President and Group CEO of Cassava Technologies, said the investment represents a pivotal milestone for the company.
“Cassava is Africa’s leading technology company, driving the continent’s digital transformation with digital infrastructure and digital services. Securing this investment is an important milestone that we expect to unlock additional value and catalyze the further expansion of our digital infrastructure and services to bridge the digital divide on the continent,” he said.
Cassava’s strong investor base now includes Econet Group, British International Investment, Finnfund, Fund for Export Development in Africa (Afreximbank/FEDA), Gateway Capital, Google LLC, International Finance Corporation (IFC), NVIDIA, Public Investment Corporation and Royal Bafokeng Holdings.
Operating across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, Cassava Technologies’ portfolio includes several market leaders such as Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Africa Data Centres, Liquid C2, Cassava.ai, and Sasai Fintech. Together, these units deliver connectivity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital financial services to millions of users and enterprises.
Now that NVIDIA has joined in as an investor, Cassava is expected to further integrate AI and high-performance computing into its service offerings. This will help to accelerate the adoption of next-generation digital solutions in Africa.
