Global technology distributor Westcon-Comstor and Microsoft have announced new partner investments and enablement programs to help African businesses seize opportunities in AI, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. The announcement came during the Westcon Microsoft Partner Summit 2025, held in Nairobi under the theme “Transformation that Builds Tomorrow.”
The summit brought together top IT partners, service providers, and Microsoft stakeholders from across Sub-Saharan Africa to explore how the tech giant’s latest roadmap can be translated into tangible business outcomes across the continent.
According to Vincent Entonu, Managing Director for Africa at Westcon-Comstor, the company’s focus is on simplifying digital transformation for its partners while helping them turn global trends into local opportunities.
“Kenya’s technology sector is one of the most dynamic in Africa, but with that dynamism comes complexity,” Entonu said. “Our role as a transformation distributor is to simplify journey for our partners, equipping them with the knowledge, programmes, and resources they need to innovate confidently.”
Through its expanded alliance with Microsoft, Westcon-Comstor aims to co-create tailored transformation journeys for its African partners. These include enablement programs designed to help partners build sustainable revenue models around Microsoft AI, cloud, and security solutions.
Elaine Van Der Plank, Senior Partner Development Manager for Africa at Microsoft, said the company’s collaboration with Westcon-Comstor is about empowering partners to make real impact.
“Kenya has always been at the forefront of digital innovation in Africa,” she noted. “Working alongside Westcon-Comstor, we are helping partners in Kenya and beyond unlock transformation that empowers local communities, accelerates industry growth, and builds a resilient, inclusive digital economy.”
Beyond the strategic announcements, the Nairobi summit served as a networking and learning platform, giving partners direct access to Microsoft and Westcon leadership, insights into Microsoft’s FY26 priorities, and strategies to turn those priorities into new service opportunities.
Entonu added, “Transformation is not an abstract concept. It’s about helping our partners and their customers across Africa solve real challenges, whether that’s scaling securely to the cloud, modernising legacy systems, or using AI to unlock productivity.”
The partnership signals a stronger push to equip African IT partners for the next phase of digital transformation, one defined by intelligent infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and responsible AI.
