Safaricom Business hosted an exclusive breakfast session for senior IT and security executives. The session showcased its Managed Security Operations Centre (MSOC) and its role in strengthening enterprise resilience.
Participants were taken through live threat simulations and demonstrations of MSOC’s analytics-driven monitoring tools, which provide real-time detection and response capabilities.
“Enterprises can no longer treat security as an afterthought; it is now central to business continuity and reputation. Through our MSOC, we equip organisations with the tools and expertise needed to identify threats early and respond decisively,” said Frankline Okata, Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom.
Kenya’s Rising Cyber Threats
The Communications Authority of Kenya recently reported a surge in cyber threats. It recorded a total of 4.6 billion incidents in Q2 2025. The regulator attributed the spike to unpatched system vulnerabilities, weak security practices and AI-powered attacks.
Speaking at the event, Nicholas Mulila, Safaricom’s Chief Corporate Security Officer, warned that ransomware, phishing and insider threats remain the most pressing risks for enterprises.
“The question is no longer if a business will be targeted, but when. We encourage our partners and customers to be aware of existing threats and seek ways to mitigate. Safaricom is committed to being a trusted partner, helping businesses withstand and recover quickly from these increasingly sophisticated threats,” he said.
