Explained: Samsung Vision AI Features

Samsung Vision AI

Samsung Vision AI

Samsung recently introduced its new Vision AI platform. This is featured across the latest NEO QLED, OLED and The Frame TVs. You can see it in action on the 100-Inch NEO QLED AI TV that is available in Kenya.

At the heart of Vision AI is Samsung’s latest generation of processors. Depending on the model, TVs come equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen3 or NQ4 AI Gen3 chipsets. These allow real-time upscaling to 4K or 8K resolution. The processors can analyse content scene by scene to enhance sharpness and color detail. It does this while adjusting brightness and sound to suit both the content being viewed and the lighting conditions in the room. This makes the experience feel more immersive no matter what you are watching.

Vision AI pairs with Dolby Atmos and Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound technology to deliver audio that moves with the action on screen. Dialogues are clearer and background effects are more precise.

Samsung has also positioned the platform as a gateway to smarter living. Vision AI introduces features such as Pet Care, which allows owners to check on their pets remotely using their TV through the SmartThings ecosystem. Another practical addition is Universal Gestures integration with the Galaxy Watch. With this, users can control their TVs with simple wrist movements. The Generative Wallpaper feature lets you create custom AI-generated backgrounds that match your mood or living space. This allows for personalization levels not seen with most other TVs.

Tools like Click to Search can identify actors or provide information about what’s on screen at the touch of a button. Live Translate on the other hand can instantly translate content into your preferred language. This makes international shows and movies more accessible for all.

All Vision AI TVs come with Samsung Knox Security, a dedicated system for protecting user data and connected devices. On top of that, Samsung is promising seven years of software upgrades for its One UI Tizen platform.

Vision AI attempts to reposition the television as more than just a screen. For Kenyan consumers, this technology is already accessible through the recently launched 100-inch NEO QLED AI TV, priced at Ksh 699,999.
