Vertiv has announced the acquisition of Waylay NV, a Belgian startup specialising in hyperautomation and generative AI software platforms.

Founded in 2014, Waylay was founded in 2014 and has developed a platform that uses artificial intelligence to orchestrate workflows, integrate systems and automate processes across connected assets, enterprise applications, and cloud services. Its software enables rapid data analytics and orchestration and this helps cut the costs associated with integration and deployment while improving uptime and performance.

“With the addition of Waylay’s technology and software-focused team, Vertiv will accelerate its vision of intelligent infrastructure, data-driven, proactive, and optimised for the world’s most demanding environments,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, in a statement.

The acquisition positions Vertiv to deliver advanced capabilities at scale, including:

    • Real-time monitoring of data centre operations.
    • Predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset lifespan.
    • Dynamic optimisation of power and cooling performance in high-density computing environments.

These features are becoming increasingly critical as generative AI and other compute-intensive workloads drive a surge in data centre energy consumption. AI-ready infrastructure now requires adaptive, intelligent systems to manage higher power densities and complex cooling needs.
