NTT DATA and Google Cloud have partnered to drive the adoption of agentic AI for enterprises as well as cloud modernization.

The two companies will co-develop industry-focused solutions and co-invest in go-to-market strategies to simplify adoption for enterprise clients.

A dedicated global Google Cloud Business Group has been created within NTT DATA. This comprises thousands of engineers, architects, and consultants. This group will collaborate closely with Google Cloud teams to accelerate deployment and client support. NTT DATA has also committed to certifying 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technologies to strengthen delivery capabilities.

Global spending on public cloud services is expected to reach $723 billion in 2025, up from $595.7 billion in 2024 according to Gartner.

NTT DATA will use Google Cloud’s stack to develop AI-driven solutions tailored to industries including banking, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, and government.

A Google Distributed Cloud sandbox will allow developers to test, train, and deploy industry-specific and sovereign solutions through preconfigured templates.

The partnership will focus on four main areas and these are:

  1. Agentic AI adoption – With industry-tailored intelligent agents built using Google Agentspace and Gemini models.
  2. Cloud modernization – Offering secure and scalable migration via Google Distributed Cloud and supported by NTT DATA’s infrastructure.
  3. Application and security upgrades – Allowing modernization of mainframes, DevOps practices, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications such as SAP on Google Cloud.
  4. Sovereign cloud innovation – Solutions that meet data sovereignty and regulatory demands in key sectors such as finance, healthcare and government.

NTT DATA’s Takumi GenAI framework will enable rapid prototyping and operationalization of enterprise-wide AI use cases.

This partnership builds on a 2024 co-innovation agreement between the two companies in the Asia-Pacific region. This is in addition to NTT DATA’s acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a Google Cloud specialist.

Retail giant Carrefour has already benefited fro this by consolidating 100 legacy applications and migrating 380 workloads to Google Cloud with NTT DATA’s support. This has resulted in a modernized e-commerce platform capable of handling peak shopping demand.
