Huawei Technologies successfully hosted the Huawei Cloud & Connect Summit Kenya 2025 on May 16 in Nairobi, convening over 600 government leaders, industry experts, technology partners, and customers to explore best practices and shared visions for Kenya’s digital transformation. Held under the theme “Accelerate Intelligence, Ignite Smart Kenya,” the summit served as a critical platform for shaping Kenya’s roadmap to becoming a digital and innovation powerhouse in Africa.

During the summit’s Connect Session, representatives from public and private sectors gathered to exchange insights on how cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital ecosystems can unlock national growth. The session spotlighted transformative case studies, public-private collaborations, and actionable strategies to fast-track Kenya’s position as a regional tech leader.

In his opening address, Victor Guo, President of Huawei Sub-Saharan Africa Enterprise Business, emphasized that cloud infrastructure is the foundation upon which AI and big data analytics will drive Kenya’s economic and technological transformation. “Cloud is not just the backbone of Kenya’s AI future — it’s the catalyst for transforming entire industries. With Huawei’s cloud infrastructure, Kenya is poised to lead the digital economy in Africa,” said Guo.

Guo also reflected on Huawei’s 27-year partnership with Kenya, which has evolved from telecommunications infrastructure to today’s cloud and AI solutions that power the country’s digital economy. “Huawei has grown alongside Kenya—from building telecom networks to enabling a smart, AI-powered future. Our commitment to Kenya’s digital economy is unwavering,” he added.

Kenya’s National AI Strategy 2025–2030 emphasizes the integration of AI into key sectors such as energy, healthcare, transport, and agriculture, with cloud technologies acting as the backbone for these innovations.

Huawei’s strategic focus aligns seamlessly with Kenya’s AI roadmap, ensuring that the country has the cloud infrastructure necessary to foster a smart, sustainable, and inclusive digital economy.
