Safaricom has partnered with Quickmart to take its 4G and 5G home internet solutions closer to its customers. Kenyans can now purchase Safaricom’s routers easily through Quickmart’s 61 retail outlets nationwide.

The move comes as demand for fast and reliable home internet is at an all-time high. This is driven by remote work, online learning, and streaming needs. Safaricom’s 4G network covers over 97% of the population, while its 5G network is now available in all 47 counties.

“In line with our purpose of transforming lives, we are continuously innovating to provide our customers with the best connectivity solutions,” said Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom. “This partnership will ensure more Kenyans can access reliable home internet with ease, reinforcing our promise of seamless connectivity and great value.”

One of the standout features in this rollout is the self-service router activation. Customers can now set up their routers on their own by scanning a QR code, registering their SIM, buying a bundle, and start browsing immediately.

Quickmart’s Chief Commercial Officer, J. Thuku, added:

“We are excited to collaborate with Safaricom to offer our customers easy access to high-speed internet. This aligns with our goal to provide convenience and value to Kenyans by making essential services readily available at our stores.”

Both the 4G and 5G routers are priced at Ksh 2,999 and are also available via Safaricom Shops, authorized dealers, and online at Masoko.co.ke. More retail partners are expected to come on board soon.

Safaricom is also investing in optimizing its Home Fibre network by upgrading speeds at no extra cost and conducting home service clinics to better support users.
