At the recently concluded Safaricom Decode 3.0, the company’s Director of Network, Antony Gacanja, said there is need for businesses to modernize their data infrastructure. At the event, Gacanja highlighted how multi-cloud environments, edge computing, and AI-driven automation are helping organizations reshape how they manage and store data.

β€œThe question is no longer if we should modernize, but how fast we can adapt to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency,” he said.

Safaricom is positioning itself at the centre of cloud transformation, not just for its operations but also to empower businesses and communities across East Africa. Gacanja said the company is committed to creating a connected, digital-first region where enterprises can use intelligent and scalable cloud solutions for growth.

The theme of this year’s event, β€œFuture-Proofing Data Centers – Leveraging Platforms for Business Agility,” underscored the importance of resilient digital infrastructure. With more businesses embracing cloud-based solutions, being able to adapt quickly to new technologies is now a must and not just an option.

One of the key takeaways from Decode 3.0 was the focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing. Safaricom aims to work closely with industry players, businesses, and policymakers to build the next era of digital transformation in the region.β€œThe Water Arena is dedicated to Connected Futures, and that’s exactly what we are creating,” Gacanja said. β€œLet’s engage, share insights, and build the foundation for the next era of digital transformation.”
