Visa has officially opened applications for the 4th edition of the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator. This is its biannual program that seeks to offer startups access to all the necessary tools, industry connections and mentorship to scale their solutions across the continent.

The program was launched back in 2023 and is part of  Visa’s $1 billion commitment to advancing financial inclusion across Africa by 2027. Visa Fintech Accelerator’s last cohort concluded in December in South Africa with a Demo day. The program has supported over 64 startups so far resulting in 15 active partnerships. Some of the notable startups from the inaugural 2023 cohort include Oze, Workpay, OkHi, and ORDA. These startups have secured strategic funding from Visa and this underscores the program’s impact.

The 2025  Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator program will feature a 12-week hybrid program that will provide startups with mentorship, technological resources and potential funding opportunities. The program targets Seed to Series A startups which already have a minimum viable product (MVP) that addresses key themes in the fintech space.

One-on-one mentorship sessions will be available for participants. They will also get access to Visa’s cutting-edge technology and potential strategic partnerships.

Applications are currently open until March 15, 2025. Interested startups can learn more and apply through the  Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator website here.
