    Ericsson Tops Gartner’s 2023 Critical Capabilities for 5G Network Infrastructure

    Ericsson has achieved the highest score in the 5G Core for Consumer Business Use Case, according to the November 2023 Gartner Critical Capabilities for 5G Network Infrastructure for Communications Service Providers report. The company’s recognition in this report underscores its extensive portfolio range, depth of experience, and ability to deliver results.

    In the analysis, which evaluates three key use case areas, Ericsson secured the top spot in the 5G for Consumer Business Use Case. Additionally, the company received the second-highest scores in the 5G Core for Common Enterprise and 5G Core for Dedicated Enterprise use cases. Gartner’s Critical Capabilities analysis offers in-depth insights into providers’ product and service offerings, complementing the company’s Magic Quadrant analysis.

    Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G Core solution currently powers more than 35 live 5G Standalone networks globally, serving over 100 million subscribers. Notably, 80% of the top-20 global communication service providers by revenue have chosen Ericsson’s cloud-native dual-mode 5G Core. This accomplishment highlights the growing momentum in adopting cloud-native architecture to ensure future growth and flexibility.

    Monica Zethzon, Head of Solution Area Core Networks at Ericsson, expressed her delight at the recognition, emphasizing the dedication to service excellence and technical brilliance that defines Ericsson’s core network experts. She noted that Ericsson’s early strategic decision to embrace cloud-native technology in the core network has resulted in unrivaled experience, enabling the company to focus on customers’ business growth plans through end-to-end solutions and collaborations.

    This recent achievement adds to Ericsson’s list of accolades, including its top ranking in the Frost Radar Global 5G Network Infrastructure Market 2023 Report for the third consecutive year. The company’s leadership in the 5G network infrastructure market, spanning radio access networks (RAN), transport networks, and core networks, has been reaffirmed. Additionally, Ericsson achieved a high position in Omdia’s Market Landscape: Core Vendors 2023 report in July this year.
