Data Integrated has received official approval from the Central Bank of Kenya to operate as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) in the country.

Founded in 2012, Data Integrated has emerged as one of the leaders of digitalizing public transport and SME digital payments. With a focus on developing innovative solutions, the company has successfully crafted a comprehensive Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform designed to benefit every essential stakeholder in the public transport ecosystem. By using technology, Data Integrated aims to enhance service quality, improve safety standards, and streamline operations for bus companies, matatu owners, passengers, regulators, and partners.

Mary Mwangi, the founder and CEO of Data Integrated said, “The Central Bank of Kenya’s approval to operate as a Payment Service Provider is a monumental achievement for Data Integrated Ltd. It empowers us to expand our MobiTill solutions, allowing us to continue our mission of transforming the public transport sector and contributing to the broader objective of financial inclusion. Our commitment lies in providing efficient logistics systems and tailored payment solutions that cater to the evolving needs of our stakeholders.”

The approval has garnered widespread support, including from key investors like Daiki Sato, a board member at Data Integrated Ltd through mobility54 – Toyota Tsusho Group Corporate Venture Capital for Africa. Sato shared his excitement, stating, “As investors, we take pride in supporting Data Integrated Ltd in its endeavor to revolutionize public transportation in Kenya. We firmly believe in the company’s potential to enhance the efficiency of urban transport infrastructure, ensuring that the public transport system becomes more responsive to the needs of operators and passengers alike. We eagerly anticipate supporting Data Integrated as it continues to innovate and contribute to the growth of the digital economy in Kenya and around the world.”
