The TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 200 is set to take place later this month in San Francisco. The event is scheduled for September 19 through to September 21 and will see two Kenyan startups showcase their products/services.
The TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 is an event put together to showcase startups from around the globe. All the 200 companies pitch on the Pitch Showcase Stage at TechCrunch Disrupt, go through training, have access to masterclasses, private receptions, communities and investor meet and greets.
Out of all the startups, 20 will be selected to take part in the final round to pitch on the Disrupt Stage. The startups will be competing for a $100K equity-free prize and a chance to win the Disrupt Cup. The two Kenyan startups taking part are:
Duhqa Ltd
Duhqa is a company offering retailers a one-stop-shop for their procurement/shopping, financing and logistics needs. It was founded by Victor Maina in 2021 and has raised over $2.1 million. The company says its main aim is to address the logistics pain points of manufacturers and to bridge the gap of slow inventory movement, brand performance traceability and increase sales to formal and informal retailers.
FlexPay Technologies
Founded in 2013 by Richard Machomba, FlexPay is a savings experience-led neo bank for the unbanked and underbanked population across Africa.The company has received over $785K in funding. The company offers a flexible payment option that allows customers to make purchases and pay for them over time, rather than paying the full amount upfront.
