Safaricom recently introduced its new 5G data bundles. This development comes a few months after the company officially announced the availability of 5G in Kenya. This is still limited to select areas but should be expanding to more areas soon. You can find out if Safaricom 5G is available in your area here.

So, what are these new 5G data bundles, and what do they offer to Safaricom customers? Let’s take a closer look.

Firstly, it’s important to understand what 5G is and how it differs from previous generations of wireless technology. 5G stands for “fifth generation” and represents the latest standard in wireless networking technology. It offers much faster speeds, lower latency, and greater capacity than previous generations, allowing for a whole range of new applications and use cases.

Safaricom’s new 5G data bundles are designed to take advantage of these benefits, offering customers access to faster and more reliable internet speeds than ever before. The bundles come in five different sizes, ranging from 15GB to 200GB, and are priced accordingly. Here’s a breakdown of the available packages:

    Safaricom 5G Wi-Fi Packages

    Price (Ksh)DataValidity
    3,499400 GB30 Days
    5,999800 GB30 Days
    9,9991500 GB30 Days

It’s worth noting that these bundles are currently only available in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Siaya, Vihiga, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kakamega, Nakuru, Machakos and Kisii, where Safaricom has rolled out its 5G network. However, the company has plans to expand its 5G coverage to other parts of the country in the near future.

So, what can you do with 5G speeds? The possibilities are almost endless. Here are just a few examples:

    • Stream high-definition video content without buffering or lag
    • Download large files in seconds
    • Play online games with minimal latency
    • Connect multiple devices to your network without sacrificing speed or performance
    • Access cloud-based applications and services with ease
