At the Tecno Camon 19 series launch event yesterday, Tecno also unveiled yet another smartphone series, the Tecno Spark 9. This is slightly cheaper than the Camon 19 series and will be available in Kenya starting from Ksh 15,599.

Just like the Camon 19 series, the Spark 9 series will be available in three variants, the Spark 9, Spark 9 Pro and the Spark 9T. This series builds on its predecessor, the Spark 8, which we reviewed late last year.

The Spark 9 series is also about the camera as this seems to be Tecno’s main focus with its recent devices. The company did not spend so much time on this series at the launch and we are not sure why this is the case given the fact that the Spark series sells so well in Kenya.

Tecno Spark 9 pricing and availability

    • Tecno Spark 9 – Ksh15,599
    • Tecno Spark 9 Pro– Ksh 20,899
    • Tecno Spark 9T– Ksh 17,199

    Tecno Spark 9 series specifications

All three devices in the Spark 9 series come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for the base models. The Spark9 Pro with 4GB RAM at over 20,000 will be hard to sell as you can add some money to get the Redmi Note 11S with 6GB RAM.

At this point, we do not have enough information about the standard Spark 9 even though it has been launched in Kenya. Tecno has so far only  shared the key specifications of the other two variants as you can see below.

    Tecno Spark 9T Specifications

    Tecno Spark 9 Pro Specifications

    • Front Camera: 32 MP
    • Rear Camera: 50 MP + 2 MP + QVGA
