The Tecno Spark 7p is the latest in the Spark series to launch in Kenya. This phone was launched not so long ago to replace the Spark 5 series that we saw last year. I reviewed the Tecno Spark 5 Pro when it launched in Kenya and with the Spark 7p. I am excited to see what is new with this model.

The Tecno Spark 7p has a few upgrades and one of them is in the camera. We have been seeing this push for improved camera performance from most manufacturers including Tecno and Infinix. Smartphone buyers demand superior camera performance no matter the price and that is what manufacturers give them.

With the Tecno Spark 7p available in Kenya, I thought I should highlight some of the top 5 things you should know about this phone.

    The Price

The Tecno Spark 7p is available in Kenya for Ksh 15,000. This is right around where previous Camon devices have been available for so nothing surprising here. At this price it should be competing with devices like the Galaxy A12, some Redmi Note 9 devices, Huawei Y series devices and some vivo Y series devices too.

You can get the Spark 7p across the country and on Jumia too.

    5,000 mAh Battery

Tecno phones have always had massive batteries and the Spark 7p is not any different. The phone comes with a 5,000 mAh battery which should be enough for most people to last for up to 2 days. This is not a very powerful and demanding phone so the battery will not drain that fast.

No super-fast charging support on this phone hence you will need some patience to fully charge this phone when it is running low.

    Good Performance

The Tecno Spark 7p is powered by the Helio G70 processor from MediaTek. This processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64 or 128GB of internal storage space. With this combination, you can expect the phone to run through simple and demanding tasks without any fuss.

    Tecno Spark 7p PERFORMANCE

As for the OS, the Spark 7p comes with Android 11 out of the box with HiOS 7.5 custom UI.

    90Hz Display

The Tecno Spark 7p has a 6.8-inch display with a resolution 720 x 1640 pixels. This is not the highest resolution and to be honest we are in 2021 and Tecno could have done better. The display is still good but a higher resolution is always better.

The good thing about this display is that it has a 90Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate at this price is commendable. We are seeing higher refresh rates on smartphones these days and Tecno does not want to be left behind.

    16MP Triple Camera Setup

The Tecno Spark 7p is not a camera-centric phone but still comes with a good sensor to help you take some decent shots. The phone comes with a 16MP triple camera setup at the back that takes some good shots. For the few shots I have taken with this phone, I have been very impressed.

For selfies, the Spark 7p comes with an 8MP camera that also takes very good shots.
