With the advancement of technology, we have seen smartphone manufacturers push the charging capabilities of their smartphones to their limits. We have seen this the last one year or so especially from Chinese manufacturers.

OPPO is one company leading this and the company has been doing that with its VOOC charging technology. This has been available on some of its smartphones with the latest one in Kenya being the OPPO Reno 5 that supports 50W Super VOOC fast charging.

Just like other manufacturers, OPPO has kept VOOC charging technology to itself and even with that, the technology is not available on all devices. In the near future, OPPO will change this as the company has confirmed that it plans to share its VOOC technology with other companies.

The company announced this earlier this week with the launch of the Flash Initiative which licenses the technology to other brands for third-party chargers. At the moment, the initiative is available for Anker, FAW-Volkswagen, and NXP Semiconductors.

Besides these companies, OPPO has not announced if there are other companies that will be joining the initiative. This will be the natural flow of things but that is not clear at this time.

VOOC technology can go to up to 125W and with this, it can fill an empty smartphone in just a few minutes.
