The OPPO Reno 4 and the company’s first smartwatch, the OPPO Watch, were officially launched in Kenya earlier today.

The Reno 4 is priced at Ksh 39,999 and the OPPO watch costs Ksh 23,999. The OPPO watch was released back in March and is available in two sizes of 41mm and 46mm. The one available in Kenya is the 41mm variant.

The Reno4 comes to the market not so long after its predecessor, the Reno3 that I reviewed a few months back. The Reno is the company’s flagship series in Kenya and that is clearly evident from its price.

Muthoni Wachira, Head of Communications & Projects at OPPO Kenya said, “Reno4 introduces fun and new ways to be in with the latest trends and fully express creativity through OPPO’s innovative imaging technology. This means that Reno4 will make it easy to capture creative portraits at any moment or imaginative videos that are designed to give every user a chance to “Clearly Unlock the Best You.”

Having used both the Reno3 and the Reno4, the differences are very clear and you should come back for the full review to find out if the phone is worth your money.

    OPPO REno 4

The OPPO Reno4 comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. It runs on Android 10 with the company’s own ColorOS 7.2 on top.

For the battery, it does come with a 4,015mAh unit that supports VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging.

OPPO phones are known for their camera performance and the Reno4 is not any different. It has a quad setup at the back made up of a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor.

“The Reno Series has always been one of the pioneers in smartphone camera technology and with Reno4 we’re proud to continue innovating with new portrait shooting and videography features that empower our users to truly stand out. From innovative imaging technology to the futuristic touch-free interaction, and from stunning designs to VOOC Flash Charging, we’ve walked the extra mile,” added Muthoni Wachira.

The Reno4 is available on pre-order till September 28.

    The OPPO Watch

The OPPO Watch is the company’s first smartwatch and is powered by Wear OS. It has a 1.6 inch dual curved AMOLED display. Its design looks a lot like that of the Apple Watch which is not that original. OPPO says the battery of this watch should last for about 24 hours and up to 21 days in the power saving mode.

I am reviewing the OPPO Watch and the Reno4 and will share my experiences in the coming days.
