About a week ago, we told you about Huawei’s plans to bring the Nova 7i smartphone to Kenya. The company had confirmed this but at the time it had not shared any information regarding the availability dates and the price.

Fast forward a week later and we now have information about the price of the Huawei Nova 7i as it is available for pre-order in the country. This will be the second Nova devices by Huawei to launch in Kenya after the launch of the Nova 5T a few months back.

The Huawei Nova 7i is not particularly new as it is a rebranded Nova 6 SE that the company launched in its home country of China last year. The phone is listed on Jumia for Ksh 30,000 which is quite reasonable looking at the specifications it comes with.

The pre-order period started yesterday and should go on till May 24 and that is when I am assuming the phone will be available in retail stores countrywide. Those who pre-order this phone get the Huawei Band 4e (worth Ksh 4,699) and a pair of Bluetooth headsets (worth Ksh 2,500) for free.

The Huawei Nova 7i comes with an FHD+ display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. It does have a punch hole on the top left corner of the display to house the selfie camera. Available colours for this device include Sakura Pink, Midnight Black and Crush Green. It also comes with a 4200mAh battery and supports 40W super fast charging.

At the back the Huawei Nova 7i has a quad camera setup made up of a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies it has a 16MP front facing camera.

Powering the Huawei Nova 7i is the company’s in-house Hisilicon Kirin 810 processor that has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. You can expand this space further to 256GB using a micro SD card if you wish to do so. The phone comes with Android 10 with EMUI 10.0.1 and as expected it does not have Google Play Services.

    Huawei Nova 7i Specifications

Display: 6.4-inch LTPS LCD display with 1080 x 2310 pixels resolution
    Processor:  Kirin 810
    RAM: 8 GB
