The Poco F2 Pro from Poco, Xiaomi’s spin-off brand, has officially been unveiled. This is the third Poco device after the successful launch of the first one, the Poco F1 followed by the Poco X2. Both were really good and now we have a third iteration, the Poco F2 Pro.

The Poco F2 Pro is not entirely a new device as it borrows a lot from the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro. This is not strange as they are both Xiaomi sub brands.

The Poco F2 Pro has a lot to offer when compared to the F1. It has a massive 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. This display supports HDR+ so expect improved image quality.

Powering the Poco F2 Pro is the new Snapdragon 865 processor that has been paired with either 6 or 8GB of RAM with 128 or 256GB of internal storage space. It is powered by Android 10 under the hood and with that, we do get Dark mode, something that will make the AMOLED display a worthy addition.

A nice addition that the phone brings is the LiquidCool 2.0 tech. This has three layers that include graphite, graphene and the “Super VC”. Poco says that the phone offers more efficient cooling as the vapor chamber is larger than what is offered by competing brands.

At the back the Poco F2 Pro has a quad camera setup made up of a 64MP main sensor, 13MP wide angle sensor, 2MP depth sensor and 5MP telemacro sensor. For selfies it has a 20MP sensor on a motorized pop-up mechanism.

For the battery, the Poco F2 Pro comes with a 4,700mAh unit that supports 30W charging.

    • Display: 6.67-inch Full HD+ screen
    • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865
    • RAM: 6GB/8GB
    • Rear camera: 64-megapixel main sensor + 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor + 2-megapixel depth sensor + 5-megapixel telemacro sensor
    • Front camera: 20-megapixel
    • Internal storage: 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 (that means data read/write operations are twice as fast as the previous generation of storage)
    • Battery: 4,700 mAh with 30W fast charging support
    • Software: Android 10

The phone will be available starting from $500 (approximately Ksh 53,000).
