Following the company’s own tips, LG has finally revealed the Velvet series in South Korea, its home market. LG Velvet takes a different approach especially on the design sporting a “raindrop” triple rear camera setup, a small central display notch and symmetrically curved edges all around the device.
The first device in the series is a mid-range focused phone running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 SoC. The display is OLED and measures 6.8inches with 2460×1080 pixels resolution.
Photos will be shot using the triple rear camera array which ships with a 48MP main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel lens for depth sensing. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel lens.
The whole system is powered by a 4300mAh battery which can be juiced both via a wired or wireless connection. You also get 8GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage which can be expanded via microSD, and Android 10.0 out of the box.
Other nifty additions include support for fast charging, audio jack, water and dust resistance, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Besides, it also supports LG’s dual screen accessory and proprietary stylus pen – both of these accessories are sold separately.
The pricing is just standard to what other OEMs have priced their devices with such specs. In South Korea, LG Velvet costs around $700 and comes in orange, green, black, and white colors. The company is expected to announce this particular device in the global market soon.
