Smartphone companies are increasingly investing more in accessories so they can catch up with Apple. The iPhone maker has been reported to be the leading accessory seller globally for the past year.

Oppo’s first attempt to jump on the bandwagon is by introducing their own Apple Watch like smart watch. It is even named in a similar fashion. Say hello to the Oppo Watch!

The OPPO Watch undeniably mimics the design aesthetics of Apple’s Smart Watch. Besides that, the company has also included novelty onboard. The OPPO Watch uses a 3D flexible hyperboloid display – an industry first for a smart watch.

From the fresh cut design, the Oppo Watch has VOOC Flash Charging technology, built-in cellular connectivity(eSIM), fitness tracking, heart rate monitor, and water resistance(up to 50 meters).

The body measures 46mm and has a 402 x 473 1.91-inch OLED screen with 326ppi density. On the surface, the smart watch is nearly bezel-less as far as the smart watch world is concerned.

OPPO touts that its Dual-Chip Endurance system automatically switches between the Snapdragon chip and an Apollo chip depending on the power usage mode. The smartwatch delivers up to 40 hours of use time when under the full-blown usage and up to 21 days in power saving mode on a single charge.

For its first smartwatch, Oppo has developed a smartwatch variable OS of ColorOS, its Android Skin. OPPO Watch will be available in the company’s home market towards the end of the month. The smartwatch will be released to other markets come April. The retail price in the company’s home market is roughly $215 ~ Ksh 21,500.
