Since 2018’s Nokia 5.1, HDM Global has not yet released a successor to this lower mid-range phone. Most of their old phones were updated last year from the Nokia 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and even 7. Other device series  – Nokia 5, 8, and 9 – missed an update last year and could be released just a day before MWC 2020 kicks off, which will be held this month as from 24th.

It seems, however, that Nokia couldn’t sit tight any further as a leak has already hit the tech media. Alleged photos of the Nokia 5.2 have already been leaked. The leak comes from the popular device leaker – Evleaks(private account) – who shared two images of the device on Twitter with several tidbits on the same.

The two images shared reveal a familiar design with what we’ve seen with last year’s Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 – cameras placed in a circular bump, a teardrop notch at the top of the display, and the Nokia name placed at the phone’s bezel.

The first tidbit about the phone is the codename – ‘Captain America,’ which is Marvel-inspired. That could mean something, although we haven’t figured out exactly what it is, or maybe it is merely a name. Many smartphones have funny and intriguing codenames, after all, but their commercial names make it easy for us to familiarize ourselves with them.

Evan also said the phone allegedly has 6GB of memory paired with 64GB of onboard storage. Compared to its predecessor, the upgrades are pretty substantial and will have to be good to attract lure consumers.

Price details were also shared, with Evan saying the phone will cost $180 at launch – a hotspot where it will be competing directly with some competitively priced Xiaomi and Huawei devices.

The phone might be released by March 4, according to the tipster.
