You have probably received an email about the change of YouTube’s Terms of Service in the past few days. The company has tweaked a few things revolving around how they will be carrying on their work to ensure their terms are more transparent and easier to understand.
Like one of the key points highlighted in the update email is the expanded commitments to notify you about changes that may affect you.
One crucial issue around the new YouTube’s terms and conditions is that it can delete, at its “sole discretion,” any Google account that they think is not commercially viable.
YouTube updated policy on termination of accounts states, “YouTube may terminate your use of the Services, or your Google account’s access to all or part of the Service if YouTube believes, in its sole discretion, that provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable.”
‘Commercially viable’ is vague, and this statement has left creators in deep confusion.
The company also says they may or may not notify the user of the reason why based on reasons stated in their blog.
The new policies will be in effect as of December 10th.
