As a result of the US ban, Huawei has been in turmoil, thanks to the Chinese- US trade wars. That has put Huawei’s second flagship series of the year launch in considerable uncertainty. However, that might not be true in other parts of the world – China, and Asia to be specific.

In other parts of the world, the Huawei Mate 30 series sales will be quite tricky due to the lack of Google Mobile Services (GMS). And for that reason, the company made it a priority to launch Huawei Mate 30 devices in Asia first.

Huawei has to focus on markets that will be easy for it since the lack of Google apps may slow down its growth in other markets.

For Asia, a lack of GMS is a non-issue. Huawei claims they have already sold over 1 million units of the new Mate 30 flagship series in three hours! Although this data cannot be verified in any way, you can see for yourself how the company’s new Shenzhen flagship store was flooded. This is massive if the numbers are correct.

To Huawei, this is no big surprise, the company is huge, and for a quick primer, it had set a target to take over the crown as the world’s largest smartphone company in terms of sales by the end of this year. Dreams which had to be pushed ahead citing to the US ban.

Although the US ban has pricked the company in the wrong way, Huawei’s popularity in the local market has intensified, as citizens express their support for their own.

This was showcased by Canalysis, an analytics firm, in the second quarter of the year. Canalysis reported that Huawei shipped 37.3 million smartphones in China alone, which is up 31% year-on-year in the period between April and June.

In the report, Canalysis reveals that Huawei was the only company that experienced an increase in sales. Even China’s own Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi saw a decline in sales, leave alone a U.S company like Apple.
