Realme’s First Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered Phone Could Be Called The Realme X2 Pro

gsmarena 001

Realme, after introducing the Realme X2 last week, have revealed again that they are soon launching a flagshig smartphone featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ chipset.

The device was codenamed Super Samurai by Realme’s Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi Chase on Weibo. In the post, Chase used a device called ‘Realme X2 Pro Super Samurai’ to share the message which has left many thinking that the phone to be launched will be called Realme X2 Pro.

Realme first hinted at an upcoming flagship smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 855+ chipset back in July when it reposted Qualcomm China’s Weibo post detailing the chipset. Realme is yet to launch a true flagship-grade smartphone like its rivals Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo. Realme’s current high-end “flagship” smartphone is the Realme X2 powered by a Snapdragon 730G chipset. This means that with the launch of ‘Realme X2 Pro’, Realme will be able to compete favorably with its rivals on flagship-grade smartphones.

There is no surplus information about any key features of the smartphone nor any word on the launch dates either but it may happen sooner than we expect. We are also not yet sure whether or not Realme is planning to upgrade only the chipset.
