We have heard the rumors about Oppo’s sister company Vivo launching in Kenya soon after conducting market research for over a year. The company, even when ahead to open its dedicated Twitter handle in Kenya –the mainstream of their communication. Since May, however, we are still wandering about in the #ComingSoon hashtag.

We are even running out of patience –I know, and that’s basically my situation. However, the company so far has revealed some tidbits that could be beneficial for Vivo-fans-to be if it is worth waiting or just grabbing any other phone already available in the Kenyan market.

Vivo Kenya’s first smartphone will be able to satisfy the appetite of bigger is better smartphone enthusiasts. Additionally, for mobile gamers, be sure to have a new mobile gaming device in the market.

The device will have limitless gaming experience –if the phone can handle PUBG, then be sure the device can handle other games without any problems. Having a 5000mAh battery as its main powerhouse –that’s impressive for heavy users.

Plus, expect good photography hardware alongside. And like any other mid-range device, Vivo has tipped a trio camera setup on the rear. The display is a 6.35-inch which offers just enough for binge-watching your favorite Netflix shows. Besides with a 19.3:9 aspect ratio that should make the watching experience even better.

Basing on these specs, I went on an adventure journey into Vivo’s smartphone lineup, and the mystery device seems to be the Vivo Y17. Vivo Y17 was launched back in April runs the latest Android Q splashed with a Funtouch 9 skin.

Aside from the titbits above the Vivo Y17 features an MT6765 Helio P35 (12 nm) with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM/128GB ROM, trio camera setup made of 13MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide lens + 2MP depth sensor and a 20MP selfie camera. Other specs include a rear-placed fingerprint sensor and Bluetooth 5.0 support.

Well, this may be clues, but we are not sure if Vivo will launch the Y series first in the country. However, they may still launch another device with other specs but at least we can not miss out on some key components of what’s coming ahead of us.

We’ll keep an eye open and feed you on more as soon as we see it.
