Huawei is getting ready to launch its latest flagship phablet in Kenya that is will be unveiling later this month. This smartphone was unveiled to a global audience late last year and the company is ready to launch it in the country.

The Huawei Mate 20 is the first smartphone from the company to come with the Kirin 980 processor, the world’s first 7-nanometer mobile AI chipset. With this chipset, the company promises a higher intelligence in mobile phones and the next level of true AI.

“With the capacity to deliver 75% improved performance and 58% improved power efficiency in the devices that it powers, the cutting edge 7nm processor does this by packing 6.9 billion transistors – 1.6 times more than the previous generation. Running at a high clock speed, Kirin 980 enables quicker app launch times, better multi-tasking and a generally smoother user experience. The Kirin 980’s unique configuration of cores are flexibly allocated to tasks depending on the device requirements at that point in time,” the company said in a statement.

If you have ever used a Huawei Mate device, then you know they do not compromise when it comes to performance. I still have the Huawei Mate 9 that I reviewed a couple of years back and it still works well. This is impressive as it comes with the old generation chipset and I can’t wait to see how good the Kirin 980 processor is.

    Improved Mobile Gaming

With the Mali-G76 GPU that debuts in the Kirin 980 processor, Huawei says the Mate 20 promises unparalleled gaming experiences. These are all claims that we have to prove as this is all the company is saying so far. It also features an innovative clock boosting technology that utilizes AI to intelligently identify gaming workloads and adjust resource allocation for optimal gaming performance.
