HMD Global has just brought it yet another affordable Android smartphone to the Kenyan market. This new smartphone, the Nokia 2.1, is now available in the country for Ksh 11,500.

The Nokia 2.1 lands in the country less than two weeks after the company announced that the Nokia 5.1 is available in retail stores in Kenya. Unlike the Nokia 5.1 which is an Android One phone, the Nokia 2.1 is an Android Go phone and this basically means that it comes with a tweaked version of Android that is optimized to run smoothly on entry level smartphones.

The Nokia 2.1 is the successor to the Nokia 2 from last year. Both are solid device and for those who may not want to go with the 2.1, you can get the Nokia 2 from Jumia for as low as Ksh 9.798. For those who want the upgraded hardware and features, the 2.1 is worth the extra cash.

Speaking on this, Celeste Muli-Gatheru, Marketing Manager, East Africa, HMD Global, said:

“Being able to rely on your smartphone from when you first wake up until you go to bed again is so important which is why the Nokia 2, with its two-day battery, has been one of the most welcome devices in our portfolio. We always want to keep giving our fans more so we’ve listened to their feedback and given them a faster processor, bigger screen and dual stereo speakers to give them an even better long-lasting experience to go with the great battery life.”
