For the past few months, we have seen high-profile individuals get their different online accounts hacked. Google CEO Sundar Pichai had his Quora profile hacked while Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, saw his LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest breached. The latest high profile individual to have his account breached in Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey. His official Twitter account was hacked briefly over the weekend. He is the CEO of Twitter and no one expected him to be hacked on his own platform.

The hackers that hacked Jack Dorsey are going by the name “OurMine”. They are the same ones who hacked Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and a few other high profile individuals and social media celebrities.

After hacking Jack Dorsey’s account, they used it to brag by tweeting, “Hey, it’s OurMine, we are testing your security, visit ourmine.org.” They tweeted this message over and over again but they were quickly deleted 45 minutes later when Dorsey got back his account.

The interesting thing about this hack is not the fact that they hacked Twitter’s CEO, but rather how they did it. they hacked his Vine account which had the rights to post to Twitter. Twitter owns Vine so this still looks bad for them. All the tweets posted when his account was hacked came from Vine, the same tactic the hacking group used with Sundar Pichai’s case where they used his Quora account to send out the tweets.

With these hacks, it is a good time to ensure your accounts are protected and that you do not use the same passwords for different accounts.
