For a few months now, we have been seeing rumors and leaks about the OnePlus 3 smartphones. we have seen so much about this smartphone that we knew everything about it before it was launched, probably this was the worst kept secret of 2016 as nothing about it was a secret.

OnePlus has finally decided to launch this phone and it sure is a beast. The phone was actually launched yesterday and is quite an impressive one. It has a premium design that looks like that of the HTC One M8 to some extent. Its screen (Super AMOLED) is 5.5 inches in size with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, this gives a pixel density of 401 ppi. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Powering the OnePlus 3 is the Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and the Adreno 530 GPU. For storage, the OnePlus 3 64GB, unfortunately, there is not MicroSD card slot to expand this space.

A 16MP camera with autofocus and LED flash sits at the back with an accompanying 8MP one in front. The back camera can shoot 2160p videos at 30fps while the front facing camera can shoot 1080 videos. The 3000 mAh battery at the back is non removable which ensures the phone maintains its unibody design.

    Pricing and availability

The OnePlus 3 will be retailing at $399 (approximately Ksh 40,000). Available colors include Gray, Black and Gold. With the phone, OnePlus has decided to do away with the invite-only system that it has been sing with its previous devices.
