OnePlus is one of the most interesting smartphone brands currently on the market. From its unique sales strategy to its premium smartphones that do not cost as much, the company has managed to attract most Android enthusiasts to everything it does. The company’s current flagship is the OnePlus 2 that was unveiled earlier this year.

With the OnePlus 2 out of the way, the company went to work on its next smartphone that will take care of those who want the OnePlus experience but do not want to spend a lot of money. This new smartphone is the OnePlus X and has been launched officially by the company.

The OnePlus X has a 5 inch OLED display similar to the one on the original OnePlus One. It is powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. For storage, the OnePlus X has 16GB of space that can be expanded using a microSD card.

It has a 13MP camera at the back with an 8MP sensor in front. These are not as bad and can even match what some manufacturers have on their flagship devices. Providing all the power is a 2525 mAh battery.

The OnePlus X is available in two variants with the OnePlus X Onyx having a rear glass panel which is surrounded with a metal edge while the OnePlus X ceramic having a ceramic backplate. The one with the rear glass panel will cost $250 (approximately Ksh 25,000) while the ceramic version will retail for 370 EUR (approximately Ksh 41,000). Both versions will be sold through the company’s invite only system.
