After the unfortunate attack of Garissa University in which 147 students were killed, Jumia has decided to help the families of the victims by donating 100% of the proceeds (of some items) from its JUMIA IS KENYA virtual shop. The proceeds will be distributed to the families of the victims through the Red Cross of Kenya.
In a statement, Jumia Kenya MD, Parinaz Firozi said, “We decided to act and devote all proceeds from the shop to the families of the victims. Kenya is our home and these are our neighbors, friends and families who have been affected by the attack. We share in their loss and grief.”

In addition to sales proceeds being donated, Safaricom, Airtel Kenya, Orange Kenya, Mobikash and the KCB Kenya have also opened accounts where money can be donated via MPESA, Airtel money, Mobikash through paybill Number 858585, Via Orange money through business number 222222 and KCB A/C No. 858585858585
