This year’s edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) saw Microsoft introduce two new Smartphones, the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL. These were not the only things that Microsoft unveiled at MWC 2015 as the company also introduced a universal keyboard for Windows, Android and iPhones.

This keyboard referred to as the Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard is light to carry around and has a compact design that folds into two. It looks a lot like the keyboard cover found in the Microsoft surface tablets.

Being foldable makes this keyboard easy to carry around in your backpack for easy retrieval when needed. This keyboard can be used with both tablets and phones so you are still able to easily get some work done when on long trips.

The Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard has a full QWERTY layout with large and easy to access buttons. It has a gap (for folding) right in the middle so this can be a challenge for some people. The keys provide tactile feedback thanks to their flat design.

Using the keyboard requires you to have Bluetooth connection with either your phone or tablet. The keyboard has its own battery to provide the power. Microsoft claims that the battery can last for three months so there is no need of regular charging.

The price for this keyboard is $100 (around Ksh 10,000)
