Huawei to Unveil 5 Inch Full HD Smartphone at CES 2013

For the last couple of years, Huawei has been growing its market share from both Smartphone and tablet sale. The company has some amazing Smartphones including the Huawei Honor 6 plus and the Ascend Mate 7. The company is also working on its next flagship, the Huawei Ascend P8, that it will unveil in April this year.

However, before the company unveils its next flagship, it will first launch its first Smartwatch at MWC 2015 (next month).

The company has released teasers with the title “NEXT IS HERE”. This teaser points to the upcoming Smartwatch that Huawei confirmed recently. The teaser reveals that the Smartwatch will support 4G LTE. This means that the Huawei Smartwatch will be rivalling Samsung’s Gear S that supports 3G connectivity.

The image does not explain what the device is but if you look closely at the crescent shape, it clearly indicates a Smartwatch. This is based on my own deductions so I may be wrong. What you need to know is that Huawei has a smartband and so the image may be that of the updated smartband, but I doubt it.

If the Smartwatch ends up supporting 4G, it will mean that it is a standalone device. This will be a really interesting thing to do for Huawei and I will be keen to see how consumers embrace this.

It is important to note that 4G LTE consumes a lot of power so the Smartwatch had better come with a bigger battery.
