Staying ahead of competition involves a lot of things and one of them is having the right team. Airtel recognizes this and this is why the company has announced top management appointments for its operations in Africa.

One of those appointed is Farhad Khan who will now be the Chief Commercial Officer for Airtel Africa. Farhad joins Airtel from MTN Group where he held different positions for the time he has been with the company. Prios to his appointment, he was the Chief Sales & Distribution Officer for MTN South Africa since August 2013. Before that, he was the Executive – Enterprise Business at the MTN Group Office, a position he had held from January 2012.

According to Christian de Faria, Airtel Africa’s CEO, the appointment of Farhad will help the company focus on its strategy in Africa, build a strong  marketing team to drive a winning consumer value proposition and reinvigorate our Go-To-Market processes.

Another top-level appointment for Airtel is that of Daddy Mukadi Bujitu who is now the Chief Regulatory Officer. Mr. Bujitu joins Airtel from the Vodacom Group where he was the Executive Head, International Regulatory and the Executive, International Commercial Legal. Just like Mr. Farhad, Mr. Bujitu has experience in the industry having worked as the Corporate Legal Counsel for Gateway Communications Group before this appointment.

Speaking on Mukadi’s appointment, Mr. De Faria said, “As the Chief of Regulatory for our Africa operations, Mukadi will craft a long term regulatory strategy for Africa and proactively build relationships with our key stakeholders.”
