Well currently Skype is  indisputable in making Video calls which is useful for video conferencing of business meetings via the internet eliminating any need for Physical appearance. This has helped individuals communicate at ease from miles and thousands of Kilometers saving time and resources.

“There’s a different social contract to how we communicate these days,” said Dan Chastney, Qik’s principal program manager. “It’s really changing behavior, where you’re not worried if the person on the other end is available to talk to you.”

11 Years ago since Skype made its debut and capturing minds of young stars for lengthy Video calls,is now becoming obsolete and boring as young people now want many small and short bites of communication all day long that send texts, selfies, emoji’s and Yo’s from Smart phones. With cheaper and high quality gadgets flooding the market due to competition.

Skype has launched the messaging apps Qik on Tuesday that is mostly likely expected to compete with the likes of Whats app,Viber, and other Chat  room services.Qik unlike most chat services enable you send 42 seconds long Hd videos to your friends and family or groups. They can then respond by recording another video clip or with a prerecorded five-second video. The clips in the resulting back-and-forth “conversations” can be replayed for up to two weeks, at which point they disappear. Video clips can’t be shared outside the app, and if someone deletes a video they sent, it will disappear from the recipient’s app as well.

To make it simple, the app, available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone, doesn’t require users to sign in with any account. It just uses their phone number and then looks for contacts in their address book. The Qik team management is quite confident that Qik will fight its way in the booming chatting business like Facebook,Whats app and Viber.”There’s a different social contract to how we communicate these days,” said Dan Chastney, Qik’s principal program manager. “It’s really changing behavior, where you’re not worried if the person on the other end is available to talk to you.”
